A case of varicella zoster infection presenting in early infancy is reported. A literature review on aspects of immunity transfer from mother to fetus is done, highlighting the fact that all about immunological competence of a new born derivable from the mother is not fully known.
There is need for further research on this in order that this unclear state be fully elucidated.
