A review of the current concepts and strategies in the treatment of tuberculosis was carried out. The topics discussed include the World Health Organisation's case definition and classifications of tuberculosis. Also highlighted are drug regimens, monitoring and supervision of therapy with emphasis on the recommendations of our National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme.
